José A. Dorado is the President of Dorado Tax & Bookkeeping Service Inc. He is also a shareholder and employee of the Corporation. His position includes Tax Preparation for Individuals, Sole Proprietors, Partnerships, LLCs, C and S Corporations, and Estates/Trusts as well as general oversight of operations.
José began helping his father, Tony H. Dorado, with Tax Preparation and Bookkeeping as a young man in the 1960's, later taking over the business with a partner upon his father's death in 1984. José became a Sole Proprietor in 2010 and an IRS-credentialed Enrolled Agent in 2015. José holds an Associate of Arts degree from Chabot College in Hayward and has maintained his State of California Tax Preparer license throughout his career.
Currently he is preparing to take the examination to become an IRS Certified Acceptance Agent in order to authenticate the documents needed for applying for an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).
When not in the office José is active in the Oakland community and politics. He is one of the members of the Oakland Police Commission, Chair of the Maxwell Park Neighborhood Council, Treasurer of the Block by Block Organizing Network, and member of the Latino Task Force. He values his health and enjoys mountain biking in the Oakland hills and Bay Area.
José was born, raised and currently lives in Oakland, California with his wife, has three grown children and three grandchildren.
